Offriamo una cucina prevalentemente di pesce in una location incantevole, direttamente sul mare. Da noi si possono ammirare di giorno le sfumature del cielo che si riflette nel blu e di sera quelle del tramonto.
In questa attività si racchiudono trent'anni di esperienza nel settore sempre con l'obiettivo di trasmettere ai clienti la passione per la buona cucina con un risultato di freschezza e genuità.

 IL LOCALE
Abbiamo a disposizione una grande sala con ampie vetrate per dare luminosità e godere della splendida vista sul mare.
Nel periodo estivo mettiamo a disposizione la nostra veranda all'aperto per poter stare ancora più vicini alla spiaggia, goderne suoni e odori e di sera ammirare i colori del tramonto.

La nostra cucina, prevalentemente di pesce, crede nella qualità e nel sapore delle materie prime. Per questo ogni giorno offriamo il pescato del giorno, preparato al momento, con tanta dedizione, nel corso della giornata. Ricette semplici per valorizzarlo al meglio ed esaltarne il sapore. Si può accompagnare con una carta dei vini ricca di bottiglie ricercate e un`ottima spina.

Il nostro ristorante offre la possibilità di prenotare con The Fork e ricevere delle promozioni da utilizzare sia a pranzo che a cena.

Volare Restaurants Ltd has been trading since 2007, and still improving the customer experience as the restaurant has been refurbished with a new suspended ceiling and a new bar... We always strive to give you the best Italian produce at  good value for money during these times of economic hardship. Partners and Hosts Onofrio Maimone and Cinzia Lopalco say "When you come to our place, we'll make all efforts to make sure you feel like you are on holiday in Italy for as long as your stay!".

Onofrio is from Sicily and has an extensive experience in catering. He's been working in the trade all his life and is the chef/proprietor of the establishment.

Cinzia is from Puglia and has been managing holiday farms, where she's learnt the trade and all the aspects of day to day running of kitchen and front of house. In the kitchen, Jason Maimone is our head chef in the kitchen and has followed in Onofrios footsteps and has learnt everything there is to know from his father, he is very talented, very motivated to keep high standards and eager to takeover one day along with his wife Victoria Maimone who is once again very talented in the front of house and she strives to make everyone feel welcomeand enjoy their meal or special occasions with us

At Volare, we have excellent food and a large Wine list to choose from. We source our ingredients locally and the rest is imported from Italy through a network of leading distributors.All this mixed with family style service gives you a true authentic taste of real Italy!

About Us

Established in 1987, we are an independent, family run traditional Italian restaurant

based at the start of Compstall Road in Romiley, Stockport. Specialising in rustic Italian

home style cooking, open evenings only - 5pm till 10pm everyday except Monday.

Who is the Italian?

Originally from Naples, owner Ferdinando Mercogliano studied at catering schools in Vico Equense and in the centre of Naples before working across Italy and Switzerland, settling in England in the early 80’s.

Our recipes and the ideology behind everything we do and make come from Ferdinando. Many of the dishes we make here today are made the same way that he learnt from his mother and grandmother. Hailing from a part of Naples famous for its pasta making history, cooking is in the Mercogliano family blood.

Now a grandfather, Ferdinando is based both here in Stockport and in Lucca, Tuscany. Sharing his time between Italy and England means Ferdinando guarantees constant fresh and original menu ideas, using the best local and seasonal ingredients. Trusting the day to day running of the kitchen to a carefully selected fantastic team of chefs.

In charge of the restaurant you will find his eldest son Alessandro. A true typical Italian family business!

Ferdinando's deep passion for Italian cooking is infectious and it has truly passed down in the generations of his family. Our heads, hands and hearts are firmly in the kitchen and we are driven to offer customers good food, value for money and a true taste of Italy.

Now well into our 37th year of trading here in Romiley, we are more passionate than ever for what we do. We have recently expanded, and we now have 8 more tables in a new downstairs area. Complete with another bar, facilities and our usual friendly service.

Our philosophy is simplicity, quality, authenticity and big flavours, in a fun and bustling typical southern Italian environment. With us you will always be guests and never customers. Learning and growing day by day, we are truly humbled by your regular custom.
